BOSTON, April 1st, 2015 – Bowen Advisors is pleased to announce that Connectem, a leading LTE virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) solution provider, has been acquired by Brocade (Nasdaq: BRCD). Bowen Advisors acted as the sole financial advisor to Connectem.

Connectem’s industry leading vEPC solution allows Brocade to extend its SDN and NFV solutions into the mobile world by enabling service providers and enterprises to offer ubiquitous connectivity between mobile and IoT devices, data centers, and public/private clouds. According to Ken Cheng, CTO and SVP of Corporate Development for Brocade, “This acquisition reaffirms our SDN and NFV strategy. The Connectem technology is a key enabler for emerging markets including IoT, M2M, Industrial Internet, and enterprise mobile data services.”

“Connectem addresses the most important themes in today’s networking industry, from mobile SDN and NFV to IoT. We are in the early innings of a monumental shift in communications technology from proprietary hardware to flexible, scalable virtualized software than can handle the new requirements and volumes of data created by the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT),” said John Emery, Managing Director at Bowen Advisors. “We are keenly focused on companies attacking this fundamental technology transformation and will continue to work closely with them to achieve premium outcomes.”
