ALAN HOWE | Senior Advisor

Alan joined Bowen Advisors in November of 2014 and serves as a Senior Advisor to the firm. Based in San Diego, Alan has a broad business background spanning over 30 years and has been exposed to a wide variety of complex business situations within large corporations, financial institutions, start-ups, small-caps and turnarounds. Alan focuses on serving emerging growth companies with strategic and financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and private financing services in technology-related sectors. Over the last decade, Alan has served on 20 different public and private boards in a number of different roles including Board Chairman and Interim CEO. Alan currently serves on the boards of two Nasdaq-listed companies, Selectica and Data I/O as well as a number of other private boards. Recently, Alan was the Chairman of Ditech Networks that was sold to Nuance Communications.

Previously, Alan was affiliated with B. Riley and Co. in Los Angeles and served in their Corporate Governance Advisory Group. Alan also served as Vice President of Strategic and Wireless Business Development for Covad Communications, Inc., a $500 mm national broadband telecommunications company. Alan was responsible for shaping and implementing Covad’s next generation technology alternatives to enhance shareholder value including wireless broadband, IPTV, and targeted advertising. Before that, Alan was CFO and VP of Corporate Development of Teletrac, Inc., a leader in vehicle location technology, for six years until the company was sold. Alan joined Teletrac from Sprint, where he was Director of Corporate Development and one of the initial team members that helped start Sprint PCS. Alan also spent several years as a corporate banker at Manufacturers Hanover in New York.

Alan holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from the Indiana University Kelley Graduate School of Business with a specialty in finance.  He is qualified as a general securities representative and holds Series 7 and 63 licenses.
